God laid the foundations of the earth and made man from the dust of it. That man that he made, for all his glory, was not spiritual but natural,
Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. [47] The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:46-47 KJV
Before being born again i.e. before the foundation of heaven (1 Cor 3:11), was established in us, we had an earthy foundation. One rooted in the man made of dust… Adam.
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
He was made a natural man and the natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit (1 Cor 2:14). We needed the foundation of heaven to be laid in us before the we can truly see:
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. [10] But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
But for many, the wine of the natural man seems so satisfying, they are unwilling to try another, not realizing that God served the best wine i.e the wine of the Spirit, last.
