I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

Psalm 104:33 KJV

“To live and have being” is not just about being physically alive, but rather, it’s a reference to being alive in Christ:

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Acts 17:28 KJV

Outside of Christ we are dead/ in the grave and therefore cannot praise God:

For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

Isaiah 38:18 KJV

In Christ we live ✝️ and have being. In him we are able to sing a new song, it’s the song of a new man. For the song of the old man i.e. the ways of the old man, are the ways/song of death ☠️, and God is not praised by this.

As a new creature in Christ, the new song ❤️ i.e. our life’s song, is a song of praise and submission unto the one who called us out of the grave…. Jesus
