Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
Psalm 104:23 KJV
Jesus, in speaking about what man labour’s for said this:
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
John 6:27 KJV
Notice he says that we ought NOT ⚠️ to labour/work for the meat that will perish. What is the meat that perish? This “meat” cannot be talking about natural food because one has to work to eat. So what is it?
Consider the big picture, there are two meats, one he says is eternal, the other will perish. The eternal meat is Jesus:
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
John 6:55 KJV
The labour to get this meat is not a work of the hands but of the heart:
John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? [29] Jesus answered …. This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
The same way our heart labours for the eternal meat, it’s the same way it can labour for the meat that will perish. So what is the meat that will perish? It’s the devil’s meat.
The Psalmist said we “labour until the evening”. The evening or sunset is when our life ends. Now the Bible tells us that we can’t eat off the two tables (1 Cor 10:21), we have to labour for one or the other. Chose today to spend whatever time you have left till sunset ☠️ labouring 💓 for God’s meat ✝️. How do u labour for God’s 🍖 you ask?
Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
