As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. [14] For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

Psalm 103:13-14 KJV

The LORD knows that we are carnal, that we are flesh, that we have wicked hearts and that continually, our thoughts are evil.

In short, he knows we are dust.

But didn’t God make man of the dust ?

Does that then mean that he made us the way we are?

Consider this: God showed in Adam’s story, how life comes about. When he made man of the dust, that man was not alive.

It was only when God breathe into the dust (formed as man) did the dust come to life, and became a living soul.

God breathing into Adam was a template for us to see how true life comes about, when the Breath/Spirit of God enters.

John 20:22 NKJV And when He (Jesus) had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Until Jesus breathes on us, i.e. until we receive the Spirit of God, we are dust and will desire the things of the dust, like the serpent in the beginning.

Dust is the serpent’s bread and meat (Gen 3:14, Isa 65:25), he savours the things that be of men (Mark 8:33) i.e. he has an appetite for carnal/earthy things. He has an appetite for dust (dead meat), which has no life in it.

The life of Jesus, is the meat of the Spirit.

This is the meat he has made available to the world, but many choose to hold on to the things that are without the breath of life.

Receive the Holy Spirit and live.
