We continue our look at the Psalms and see how they point to or testify of Jesus as he indicated in John 5 and Luke 24 when he said:

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

John 5:39 KJV

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Luke 24:44 KJV

This article, and others found in Questions From the Psalms, focus specifically on questions taken directly from the book of Psalms and illustrates how they speak of Jesus.

This article examines two questions, both taken from Psalm 15:

LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

Psalm 15:1 KJV

Both questions asked from Psalm 15:1 were also asked in Psalm 24.

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? Psalm 24:3 KJV

Note: his holy place is his tabernacle (Heb 9:3)

Both questions are also answered in Psalm 24:

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Psalm 24:4 KJVS

How do we get clean hands?

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Ephesians 5:26 KJV

We get clean hands when we are washed by the Word (Jesus). Ephesians 5:26 says, That he (Jesus) might sanctify and cleanse it (his church | his people) with the washing of water by the word (his word).

To get a pure heart, we have to get the heart of God. Why? because man’s heart is wicked (Jer 17:9). We get God’s heart|mind when the same Spirit|mind that was in Jesus is in us:

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 2:5 KJV

This is the entrance of God’s Spirit|Word in us, leading us to think and act like him. This is why scripture says (in Romans 8:14) that those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons. Because the child will resemble the parent, and, since God is Spirit, we resemble him when his thoughts become ours, and his actions become ours.

How does his action become ours?

When we have his mind, we will do as he did:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:8 KJV

Therefore, the question of who will abide on God’s holy hill or dwell in his tabernacle is answered in Jesus. For it’s only through him our thoughts and actions (clean hands and pure heart), aligns with God’s thoughts and ways.
