Sometimes in life we seek to have others validate our actions. We look at the teacher, parent, mentor, role model, spiritual leader, someone we hold in high esteem, hoping that they would tell us we have done well.
Sometimes we do something that the inner witness (the Holy Spirit) says was wrong, but we convince ourselves that it’s ok because the person we hold in high esteem does / did the same thing.
If we let the WORD of God be our guide, we will keep ourselves pure; if we follow men, we will find ourselves in a place where we not only commit sin, but justify it.
Follow Christ, not men.
