These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
Psalm 104:27 KJV
God is Jehovah-jireh, our provider. He was first called this by Abraham, who was on the mount when he saw the lamb God provided for a sacrifice. So to, all who stand on God’s mount and see the lamb ✝️ have also come to see Jehovah-jireh, for the meat of the lamb is the meat of God provided in season.
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
John 6:55 KJV
When the psalmist spoke of God providing meat, he was speaking in reference to carnal men described in verse 25 as creeping things, small and great beast of the sea.
The due season for the provision of God’s meat to carnal man is the time when repentance takes place. For in repenting, man is turning from ☠️ to ✝️. Only in coming to Christ are we granted access to the meat of God:
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
John 6:27 KJV
