This sin will become for you like a high wall, cracked and bulging, that collapses suddenly, in an instant. [14] It will break in pieces like pottery, shattered so mercilessly that among its pieces not a fragment will be found for taking coals from a hearth or scooping water out of a cistern.”
Isaiah 30:13-14 NIV
Sin is described as a high wall which will be broken in an instant by God. Shattered to pieces like a pottery.
Who are the pottery?
We are the pottery, the wall of sin/flesh (Acts 23:3) which must be destroyed mercilessly in Christ (Eph 2:14)
Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
Acts 23:3 KJVS
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us ;
Ephesians 2:14
When we have his Spirit, the wall of flesh|sin, no longer stands between us and him. And now, we are part of a new wall
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. [17] And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel
Revelation 21:14,17
How do we know this refers to us, as a new wall?
Let’s look at two verses which connect these dots for us.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; [20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone ; [21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: [22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:19-22 KJVS
Jesus as the foundation, we as living stones on that foundation. Look also upon his revelation, in Revelations 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Revelation 3:12
