John 10:9 KJV
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture
This is the third instance in the book of John of Jesus saying I am _________. The 7 times he said I am ________ are as follows;
1. He said I am the bread of life John 6:35
2. I am the light of the world John 8:12
3. I am the door John 10:7,9
4. I am the Good Shepherd John 10:14
5. I am the ressurection John 11:25
6. I am the way, the truth and the life John 14:6
7. I am the true vine John 15:5
What purpose does a door serve? It an entrance or an exit to a location. Jesus calling himself the door is him saying he is the entrance. He said if we enter by him we will be saved. So salvation is the end result of entering. But the question remains, what or who or where is the door leading to? Where does this entrance lead?
He leads us to the green pastures. Put another way, he is the entrance to Eden. Where is this you ask? It’s a place in the spirit where we can meet with God. It’s a place of rest of peace of joy and contentment in the spirit. A place where a spirit is filled by God himself and can connect with him on an intimate level.
He said we can go in and out because we can, in a sense, enter and leave his presence.
If you desire to enter this place, you can, but you must enter through “the door”. Eden is no longer closed to the public, but there is only one entrance, Jesus!! Come walk with your Lord and Creator even as Adam did. He desires to spend time with u. What say you?
