But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
1 Tim 5:8
“Charity starts at home”.
I am sure we’re all familiar with that saying. It is a truth the scripture reading this morning (1 Tim 5:8) confirms.
Those closest to us tend to know the real person that we are. However, many put on performances when in public, a new persona to present what they want to be seen as to others; a loving father & husband, a committed mother or a family that gets along well.
Meanwhile the children (and those in the home) are looking on and saying “hypocrite“, because they see the real person that you are, and more importantly God sees.
God is not fooled by performances! So, let us not focus on projecting an image of Christ’s love to the world but *be* the image of Christ to all, especially those of our own household.
Be blessed.
