Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. [7] At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
Psalm 104:6-7 KJV
By telling us that the mountains were covered with ‘the deep‘ till God’s voice chased them away, God is testifying the truth of our existence till Christ (his word/voice) brought/brings an end to it.
The ungodliness of flesh (and demons operating through it) was ruling in high places (the minds of men) i.e. the waters covered the mountains.
If the voice of God’s rebuke to end this is Christ, then why is it that there is still spiritual wickedness in high places?
Because, as long as men exist who set up altars in the high places of their mind and the minds of others, spiritual wickedness will continue to have high places to operate… the minds of those men is their high place. But when you turn to Christ, there is war in the heaven of your mind to cast them out:
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
Until we pull down the ungodly altars set up in the high place of our mind with the Truth of Christ, the waters will continue to cover the mountains. Selah
