Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23:6
Everyone wants to go to heaven. No one (in their right mind) wants to go to hell. But the house of heaven… his house, God’s house, is reserved for his sheep.
Psalm 23 begins by saying “The LORD is my shepherd” everything that follows afterward is a consequence of the LORD being “my shepherd”, which includes to “dwell in the house of the LORD for ever”.
One cannot enter if God is not their shepherd
If he is your shepherd, then you would follow as he leads. You will eat his word and drink is blood in the place where he says to do so.
What does independence from God look like (practically)?
Your life will not be a story of independence but rather of total dependence on him. If you have gone astray, you eat and drink as you please (spiritually).
If you’re living life deciding for yourself what is right or wrong, rather than trust what God has already declared.
However if you’re far from him and his perfection and you can see your sin, then my friend, today, don’t harden your heart. Turn to him, repent, cry out to the Son.
His house is open to all. He has sent messengers into the highways and bye-ways to invite as many people as they can.
Remember, you can only enter through the blood of Jesus. Choose today where you will spend your eternity:
– the house of the wicked one
– In the house of God or
(there aren’t any other options). Be blessed.
