He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. [8] The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Psalm 103:7-8
When we come face to face with God through Jesus Christ, one of the first things you will realize about him is this: He is VERY often misrepresented by those who should represent him.
Just listen to how he describes himself:
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
He wants to show mercy so we can live. He does not want ANYONE to perish. He pleads with us to repent:
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
This is his heart. He is so committed to reconciliation that he himself manifest in flesh to this end.
This very act says to us as sinners… listen I know you messed up real bad, you may not have believed that I would still love you and receive you after all the mess, but I hope that my shed blood shows you just how invested, how serious I am about reconciling.
What more could God do to demonstrate how much he wants us?
Whenever you feel like you’ve sinned to much and God would not have you, remember this:
Psalm 103:8 The LORD is merciful … plenteous in mercy.
